My MacBook Pro 2011 won’t boot due to a short circuit (sparks) with my screwdriver. Fans and Chim don’t work but the HD is spinning. The USB ports are working also the DVD drive and thunderbolt. External monitor gives no response. Powerbutton is working and batt is charging. Does anyone have a suggestions to fix this. Thanks Winn

Well that’s bad … You’ll need to find someone to fix your logic board that might be hard. But it may end of being a good thing! This series has issues with the dedicated GPU due to heat. While you could just replace the logic board with another 2011 version you could just jump to a Mid 2012 version which will also fit and work. Its a much better board and the GPU runs cooler.
