Hello. Having identical problem as described below: Recently I have Upgraded my MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2012 standard HDD with a SSD with clean install of Mojave. Now every time I close the lid (without turning it off) and wait for about 10 minutes and open the lid the startup sound from the optical drive occurs (the same sound that occurs, if you completely shut down the device and turn it on again). This is really strange and annoying, is there anyone in this forum that has encountered the same issue, and has a fix for it? I have also noticed that when the startup sound from the optical drive occours, the Sleep Indicator Light has stopped lighting as it was shut down (it was only in sleep mode). Have two identical units, one with matshita SuperDrive and one with hitachi. Both upgraded to ssd with clean Mojave install. The matshita does not do this. Have performed clean installs, smc, and nvram resets. Have reset startup disk with no success. Apple has no answer short of visiting the Genius Bar. Any help is much appreciated! Thanks!
You’ll need to replace the Hitachi optical drive with the Matshita unit and hope for the best.
