I was using my iMac earlier, it suddenly switched off and I cannot get it to turn back on. The computer did get very wet towards the end of last year, he had a couple of glitches but seemed to be okay. I’m not sure if this is the problem…. I’ve unplugged it and left it out for a few minutes, plugged it back in and I didn’t make any difference… I also did the same but pressed the on button for about 30 seconds before plugging it back in. Neither made any difference…. Any suggestions as to what this could be? Guessing it might be the power supply? Any tips or advice would be helpful, otherwise I’ll have to take it to Apple to get their genius to have look at it. Thanks, Nick
mmm… A wet system needs to be properly cleaned before things get worse! While that was a while ago water has more in it than H2O, minerals and other stuff which leave a deposit on the parts and circuitry which over time corrodes damaging your system. So its time to open your system and carefully inspect every part for damage. Follow this guide to the end as you’ll need to look on the back side of the logic board besides all of the parts you’ll need to take out. If you see something damaged take some good clear pics and post them here for us to see Adding images to an existing question
