Hello everyone, I recently purchased an iFixit battery to replace a not so good NuPower one. Post install I was having issues with the battery shutting down my computer at random when running only on battery. It would be at 80%, 30% etc. It did it on both OS installs I have (partitioned disk). Never had this happen on the Nupower or original Apple battery. iFixit sent me instructions on CoconutBattery, reset SMC, reset NVRAM, etc. They checked everything over and sent me a replacement. Installed replacement, did the calibration, did the reset SMC, and now the laptop has begun to do so a sudden sleep or shutdown WHILE PLUGGED IN!!! Also noticed that it seems that the laptop is getting hotter than usual at times. I’ve attached two sets of screen shots. The first set is from a couple of days ago right after a shut down and the second set is from today right after another shut down. Interesting about the battery being OVER 100% health and overcharged??? Thanks for any help! -Doug Also let me know if I should just contact the iFixit support about this.

Update (01/20/2021) Latest screen shot after holding power button for 30 seconds and computer random shut down at 60% battery

I don’t seen any issues with your battery here. I suspect you didn’t clear and reset the min/max values within SMC so the old batteries values are still being used. How about disconnecting your battery, with nothing plugged in press the power button a good 15 secs to fully discharge the logic board, then plug the battery back in and run the battery down and recharge it for a good 8hrs.
