Chosen Solution

Hi all, I’m really hoping someone will be able to give me a hand here, so the 1.1mm screw on top of the home button of my iPhone 7 plus is stripped, and absolutely refuses to get out. I have tried the superglue technique (superglue the driver to the screw) and am worried it may have even glued the screw to the bracket. The only solution I can think of is to bend the home button bracket on either side of the middle screw, and use the bracket itself to remove the screw from the home button. I have ordered a new home button bracket either way, does anybody have any other ideas? Should I even attempt what I am proposing? Thanks in Advance.

You could try and set the phone in the fridge for 10 minutes or so to allow the metal screw and bracket to contract a little bit which might help loosen it. Then maybe the super glue trick might work, hopefully you haven’t glued the screw in place, just a thought

ive had this before, managed to bend the bottom of the bracket up 90deg and get the button out the screen and back into new screen successfully without having to remove the screw. risky but doable.
