Old Samsung tv model JL23LED often reports it has stopped working when I change channel. This is a frequent problem and requires the tv to be turned off and on again to allow me to continue using it.
@jifster double check your remote (maybe use a universal remote first) and see if that makes a difference. If it does not then this could be related to a bad IR board or a bad tuner on the main board. Try other inputs and see if that causes the same issues. If so, then it is time to check your boards. Unplug your set and remove the back cover. then take a look at those boards and check for obvious damage like leaky or domed capacitors etc. Post some images of your boards with your question so that we can see hat you see.
