My iMac 27 inch did always feel hot to touch, but worked without incident. Last night the computer shut down and with every attempt to power back on, it chimes and stays on for approx 15 secs then it shuts down. I have tried to utilize the option to reset etc but the computer does not stay on long enough

The more complete the description of your problem is (what iMac you’re using - there are many versions out there (27 according to the tag at right), what OS you’re using -there’s a lot of those too, a bit of history- was there a power surge, lightening strike recently) the more accurate assistance we can provide, and, the sooner we can provide it..
