My iPod classic has developed a lot of static when playing music on my iPod dock
@pajeff Sounds like you are having issues with the dock connector on the bottom of the iPod. Check it for bend pins, corrosion and debris. Clean it with some isopropely alcohol and a soft brush followed by some puffs of compressed air to clean it. Then try again. If that does not work you may have to consider replacing the connector. Not an easy task but for someone with soldering experience, definitely possible.
