I’m the proud new owner of my first Apple Watch and have a question (sorry is silly). It’s winter on the eastcoast and like everyone I get the odd static shock touching a door nob etc. so my question is can static shocks damage or harm the Watch? I assume Apple have taken this into consideration with some built in defense, but wanted to get some thoughts on this from someone who may actually know for sure. Thx!

The good news is watches in general are ESD safe (static proof)! Metal watches are at the same electrical potential as your skin when you have it on. Even if you have it off and touch it the metal case will protect all of the sensitive parts within the watch from the discharge from you. FYI - I’ve had an Apple Watch Series 2 for a few years not and I know I’ve zapped it a few times with no effect.
