Hi there, I have a not so old Macbook pro that displayed a folder with a question mark in it. I booted into the internet recovery partition and tried running disk utility on the SSD but it is not showing up! I opened the laptop and had a quick look inside - everything looks very tidy. I reinserted the SSD and still no luck… Anybody had the same issues or ideas on what my next moves are? Thank you for your help!
Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, But it sounds very much like physical failure unfortunately. SSD don’t need defragmentation. Therefore like everything digital it is on or off. 1’s or 0’s check this link out. SSD drive not recognized Update (02/13/2018) Try the hardware test.
