So I’ve had this problem before where the SSD wasn’t recognized about a year ago. Replacing the hard drive cable fixed that issue. Now it has happened again, and while i was tinkering, i found that the sad is recognized from the secondary drive bay (where the cd player used to be) and the mechanical hard drive is recognized in the main bay. Im at a loss, the sad is good, I’m using it now, but in this bay the speed is atrocious. Is there a quick fix to this or do i buy another cable?
First thing I would do is to replace that cable again but use the 2012 model cable. Put pads on either side of the cable where it comes over the last step to prevent the bottom from touching or hitting it. Here’s the cable and I would definitely get a new one: MacBook Pro 13" Unibody (Mid 2012) Hard Drive Cable
