Spindle on Cuisinart has flat side; blade shafts that fit over spindle do too, but don’t turn even if flat sides are carefully matched. Motor is OK, and spindle turns without blades.
@buzz31 , Maria, If it is just press fit, it sound like the collar on the blade is worn and is not able to fit tightly on the shaft of the motor any more, maybe it has a crack(especially if it is just plastic). This is something you could try if not cracked, with a pair of pliers gently and carefully try squeezing the shaft on the blade a little in the flat spot area to tighten it up or use your make and model # to do a search for replacement blades.
