Sooo, I wanted to change my iPhone 8 screen and managed to (somehow) spill rubbing alcohol on the LCD shield plate on my new screen and now the touch is not working on that area (in an horizontal line from that area). I am now wondering that if I change LCD shield plate, if that would fix the touch issue. To be clear, the only area on the new screen not working is horizontal line, the rest is working fine. Any help would be appreciated!
I think you’ll need another screen. The touch should work fine without the metal plate. The rubbing alcohol sounds like it seeped into the display.
