Hello! I just spilled a little bit of Fanta on my touchpad. I wiped it off quickly and after testing it seems that the area of the spill is still functioning well and so do the buttons. Im not sure what should I do next. I’m not any good at electronics and will probably be unable to clear it out on my own. I’m not sure if I should repairing it with a professional either, since no damage was found really. Any responses are welcome, thank you!
Hi You’re better to be safe rather than sorry! I would look up a dissemble guide on iFixit or YouTube (I can do it for you if you let me know the model) Once inside I would remove everything from the housing and clean any traces of liquid away with some isopropyl alcohol ,Qtips/cotton buds and a soft toothbrush Doing this will help remove any contaminants that could cause corrosion or even worse a short circuit Make sure to do this as soon as possible as with water damage ever second counts!
