Hello, I recently spilled a little water on my keyboard recently. Cleaned it out immeditately after it happen. A week later of not playing on it, I put the charger in and it wouldn’t charge. The only way i got it to work was by connecting and disconnecting it took like 20-30 tries. I tried to clean out the magsafe port and charger with contact cleaner, it made it better by 80% i was able to get the red light indicating it was charging. But as soon as i took it out it would be a hit or miss if it would charge it again. A week after that i notice that it became even more difficult to get it to charge. I left the charge in for about two days and notice that my laptop was charing. once i unplug it and tried to reconnected it and would not charge anymore. Does anyone have an opionion what the cause is? I’ve also tried all smc and pram resets. Also I rebooted my macbook air to the original setting. My apple warranty ran out do you think they will still be able to help me? Please help me I’m a 22 year old college student trying to make ends meet!!!!!!
There is probably still some water in the unit and if you had some desiccant I would say open the unit up and put it in it to try to remove the water. Barring that I would remove the battery and power and place it in a warm and dry environment to see if you could get the water to evaporate out of it.
