Hello, recently I’ve been given a second hand Acer Laptop, However It had a few problems, including one of them to be a dead speaker, whenever I play a music/video or play anykind of sound it just crackled on Bass heavy parts and when it’s either voices or just some low frequency noise it becomes silent, and you can barely hear the Sound.
Hi @shmubby , Have you tried connecting headphones to the laptop’s headphones port to listen if the audio is OK there or not, you didn’t say? Here’s the service manual for the laptop. In there you’ll find the steps to access and replace the speaker(s) if they are faulty. Search online for Acer 5740 speaker to find suppliers of replacement parts.
