Hello! I got an iPhone 7 plus. It was working fine but after I updated the ios (from 12.0.1 to 12.1.4) the front speaker which is the earpiece creates distorted /crackling sounds specially when I’m listening to music. What could be the problem?
The issue happening after the update could be a coincidence. Usually when you have crackling or distorted audio from the ear speaker on a 7 or 7 plus, your phone is suffering from audio ic chip issues which is only repairable by soldering a new audio ic chip. A few symptoms are slow to boot, touch issues and voice memos failing to open. Are you experiencing any of these symptoms or just the crackling audio?
