Chosen Solution

Hi, I’m wondering if anyone can help. I have a Roberts RD60 DAB radio and it’s started to get distorted sound, it sounds like when you get a bad signal on a radio station. I thought there was a problem with the speaker because it doesn’t matter what station I’m on but it’s the same sound when I plug earphones in. Does anyone have any ideas about what the problem could be and whether it’s an easy fix? Thanks

If you live in the EU you have a two year warranty by law. I would go back to the seller and get your unit replaced if you can. Sadly, the PLL logic within the tuner is having issues. Given the cost of the radio I don’t think you’ll find anyone willing to fix yours are the cost of the repair may end up being higher than the cost of a new radio.

It’s probably the multiplexer IC that switches the input to the audio stage between the radio and the aux input. I think Roberts charge £50 to repair including the return postage.
