I have a Sanyo DP55d33 and have been having some issues recently. Its literally just a little over the one year warranty so I am going to try to DYI lol. Basically My TV has sound but the picture is almost so black you can not see it. It will not even respond if I hit the menu button with my remote. But I can see a very very dimmed picture on the actual screen. All advice is appreciated thanks!
@waltonwhirlwind sounds like a backlight issue. Do you have the back off the TV? Check the boards for leaking or domed capacitors. Post some images of your boards with your question. that way we can see what you see. Use this guide Adding images to an existing question for that. Schematics for your TV are still a bit hard to come by but I would suggest you look at the power supply board as well as the LED driver board for any damaged looking components. The power board and the LED driver board as pretty reasonably priced just in case you do not have the tools or the expereince to repair the boards.
