I have a SONY XBR-55X900C that over a week has slowed down, and the past few days started to glitch. Netflix wouldn’t respond to opening, extremely slow inputs, etc. Two days ago, it would randomly restart 5-30mins after powering on, then the interval became 1-5mins and today it will not get past half the loading time for the “android” logo. I’ve tried to do “hard factory reset” by unplugging, and then replugging while POWER and (-) buttons are pressed and held for 10s-30s, but I never get the green flashing lights indicating a hard reset. Before going off to find a new board, is there any indication that I did something wrong or what the specific problem is? My main conclusion after research is either the mainboard or power board replacement.
Hi, Try the TV’s self diagnosis test and check if there are any errors displayed (see p.10 of the manual) that may tell you of any hardware problems. if none then try updating the firmware and check if that resolves the problem. Note that if the version number is “PKG6.827.xxxx” or higher, you already have the most recent software version installed and most probably it will not even try to reinstall the firmware linked above.
Hey there Ric. I would assume your issue is either going to be the main board, the power supply board or the panel/screen. Also, for the most part, you won’t be able to find the circuit boards new as they are usually just harvested from scratch and dent lot TVs but it will work the same.
