Hi, one day my Sony KDL-50W828B suddenly stopped displaying images. I can hear the menu sounds and see the backlight going on and off when changing input but no picture is displayed. I replaced the T-CON board and the Main board without success. I then found a service manual and replaced the LVDS cable as indicated but still no picture. While I tested the new cable and it seems to be working, I have no way of knowing if the new T-CON or Main Board aren’t faulty. What should I do next? Edit 12/02/22: @oldturkey03 thanks for the answer! I carefully retested the LVDS and the two cables that comes out of the T-CON board and they all work fine. Here are some photos. This is an overview of the back of the TV with and without the main board (and the tuner board):
This is the main board:
This is the T-CON board:
And these two are the driver boards:
I forgot to take a close-up picture of the LVDS, I will add it if needed. So with all the cables working only the driver board remains, why would it fail like this all of a sudden though?
@chhri if there was no change from the way your TV functioned before and after you changed the boards, we have to make the assumption that the boards are working. You mentioned the LVDS cable, which would be the cable from the main board to the T-con board. Have you checked the cable from the T-con board board to the LCD panel driver? Check that as well as the connections on the driver board. That particular board would also be the last possibility of having failed since you already changed everything else. This may be consider a panel error since the driver board is fastened to the LCD panel via a special process and cannot (easily) be replaced by us DIY-er’s. Of course, post some really good pictures of all of your boards, cables, connectors (including the driver board) with your QUESTION so that we can see what you see.
