some of my ps3 games i put in wont read or they start to then the system frezzes once it gets to the loading screen
One thing you might be able to attempt would be cleaning the optical lens in the optical drive. Use a q-tip and some rubbing alcohol to gently rub the lens. Be very gentle, they are fragile. Let it dry, and try a game or movie.
