GPS makes random noises, crackling, static, clicking. Sometimes voice just stops working. Often on start-up dim “GARMIN” appears on screen, then unit freezes. Needs many attempts to restart. Sometimes battery removal and replacement after a period of time is necessary to get it working again. Unit is about 3 years old with minimal usage. Can you offer any suggestions on repairing? Thanks
Hi, Does it do this when on battery power only or also when connected to an external power source? If not when using an external power source the battery may be the problem. Try replacing the battery and check how it goes. Has the device’s software been updated lately using Garmin express in case there is corrupted software?
