rachel, sure sounds like a YLOD. Anyhow, make sure it is in a well ventilated places, and that he air inlet opening are clean. Make sure that your fans works. If all that is okay, you could try to replace your thermal pads/thermal compound and even a reflow. The YLOD kit on ifixit is not really for the slim, but I suppose it could be used.
