Just replaced HD with and SSD and 8 GB RAM with 16 GB. ALL Great….accept…I thought why not be slick and replace the Hard Drive Cable as well. I couldn’t get the yellow ZIF cable back into the ‘holder’. and broke the little door that hold said ribbon. Other than the little “computer-is-on” pulsing light in the front right, computer seems fine. No issue. Track pad, keyboard, screen, performance…all good. What does that ZIF ribbon do? Am I harming my computer by operating without it connected?
The orange ribbon cable is the Sleep indicator LED. The white light you see on the front edge.
