Chosen Solution

Hi Guys, I have just bought a new Xbox one s and I realized, that when the machine is turned off, it has a sizzling noise probably from the internal adapter. I have tried with different cable and different sockets and still the same. I took it back to the shop where I bought it and we could not hear anything as the shop is noisy and the noise from the xbox is quite low, but am still worried there will be some problem with it. The guy told me I have to try to connect the xbox to an extension cable, rather than to socket. I just got home and tried, but still the same noise. Does anyone know what the problem is or any solution for that? Thanks for the answers

@berko88 , David, Do you have a friend or know somebody with the same Xbox one s, hopefully you do and can check their machine. If their machine makes the same noise then you can probably consider it normal. If second machine does not make the noise then may not be normal and could be defective, in which case return for exchange, refund or repair. Good luck. I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.

Hello, I have been asked this problem. So far as I know it’s just a small defect that won’t cause any further damage. You don’t need to worry your Xbox is fine. I hope this helped Keegan

There is no problem to begin with. That’s just the hard drive periodically starts up and updates data. Xbox one is never truly “off” unless you select “full shutdown” in the settings app or pull power altogether. Read the instruction on the support page first.

Two things… 1st be careful with surge protectors. Microsoft always go on about how that damages the machine because the psu has surge protection so you basically slowly kill it apparently. I’m on Xbox number 2 now lol 2nd I have a one s. It makes a lil hiss but ONLY when in instant on mode. If your Xbox is set to that it WILL make noise as it’s still operational to a degree. Might be why your friends one doesn’t. His might be in energy saving mode hence no noise cause it’s off. If yours is in instant on try putting it to energy saving mode and see if it still does it. Hope this helps man :)

I can’t turn my Xbox on and its makeing a high pitch beep no
