Hi, I´m recently bought a 2tb Xbox One S and it´s fan sound like something is hitting the blades. Any guess about how to fix it?
Hi Yan, It´s really simple to change the bearing, you can remove the fan without have to remove the heatsink. The fan is almost the same, but it dont fit well, because the height of the one s. I suggest you change the fan to a custom one, like corsair or another pc fan, it´s really simple, look for guides in Youtube, i got better results changing the fan instead of the bearings. Hope it could help you.
Has anything fallen into the fan? Anything unusual happen to the unit? (Like getting knocked over, hit, etc.) At this point, I would recommend sending it in on warranty. Since it was only just released, you should be able to get it fixed for free under warranty, and you won’t risk damaging it more opening it up.
Hi Ben Eccles, I kind of fixed the fan noise. Last night I open the entire console and removed the fan, I discovered that the sound was coming from 2 crap bearing´s inside the fan, changed them and said goodbye for the noise, at least until now. Tks for the help. P.S: Sorry about my poor english, I´m from Brasil and I´m a little rusty.
Hi ricardo I got the same problem, is it easy to change the bearing? (can i dissemble the fan without removing all the heatsink?) I was thinking to change the fan myself but i don’t know if the Xbox One fan is compatible with the One S fan. Thx
Thx for your help, i have changed the fan, i’ve used a PWM 120 mm fan. Now the Xbox is quiet, the hard drive is louder than the fan :) It’s a shame for Microsoft quality control, a lot of people got this problem (and some are thinking the buzzing noise is normal)
Hello! What typ of fans are you guys using? Or rather from what manufacture? Want to be ready to change it if i get the same problem when i recieve my One S.
