Chosen Solution

Hi my problem is that about 2 days ago i replaced the thermal paste on my Xbox 360 s because my console was running very hot , after carefully taking it apart i saw that the old thermal paste was dried up so i replaced it with Noctua NT-H1 thermal paste, the problem is after carefully putting it all back together and making sure to plug every cable back in my console will randomly freeze during game play, sometimes during boot it also will freeze and/or there will be random pixelation on the screen but not as often. It will run fine for about what seems 10 minutes maybe a little more but then it will freeze no matter what game, I’ve tried formatting the hard drive and clearing the partition but nothing has worked yet. anyone know what the problem could be? any help would be nice thanks as i haven’t found any solution anywhere yet.

Open it back up, replace the thermal paste again, make sure to use only so little and let the heatsink spread it out itself. Also, make sure their is a good connection between the APU and the heatsink. Maybe it wasn’t screwed on tight enough etc. The fact most thermal paste If not all but some are not conductive so unless you were being legit reckless, I don’t want to assume you did any harm to it. I want to assume their is not a good enough connection, and is actually getting too “hot” in which freezes it. So try doing so. And also make sure the fan is connected properly.
