Chosen Solution
Hey, I have a 64gb Iphone 6 that is stuck in boot-loop, I’ve tried to restore it through recovery mode and in DFU Mode, using both iTunes and 3uTools, also i’ve replaced the battery and tried a new charger port… The initial damage is unclear but just for good measure i double-checked all the connections and cleaned, where necessary… Doesent look like water damage! Would re-flowing the nand chip be a possible solution?
I would not encourage you to reflow IC’s on an iPhone logic board. The component density is vey high, the pcb is very thin and multi-layered and the components are very tiny. You could easily cause solder ball explosions or shorts on the underfill-secured IC’s or damage to surrounding IC’s. In this case, you don’t even really know for certain what is causing the boot-loop. The proper thing to do is to reball if you really think solder connections are the issue. However, in your case you should start by probing the main voltage rails as well as the voltage rails generated by the PMIC. This may help you understand what is going on.
