I have a Creative I-Trigue L3800 speaker system. When I move the cable I get a crackling sound and sometimes the volume just gets very loud. The volume cable has many little colored wires in it and it seems one of them is broken. Not sure which one. I opened it up and all the wires are in a plastic connector which goes into to circuit board. Would be nice if I can fix or replace this cable. The company doesn’t support this product anymore. Would anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

Did you check out their support site? I found a link for trouble shooting humming sounds Keywords / Key Phrases: Creative Speakers, Essential Troubleshooting, no sound, humming sound and a page about cables with illustrations. Seems that many cables are industry standard, or could be repaired or fashioned from that information. If this answer is acceptable please remember to return and mark it.

How many conductors are in the cable? ethernet cable has 8 pairs and could possibly be used to replace the existing cable. You can get large amounts of this for a pretty good price. be sure to “ring out”(put a meter on the ends of each wire to be sure there is continuity) each conductor prior to connection. https://www.google.com/search?q=ethernet
