I replaced a screen on a galaxy s8. In the process i cut through the proximity sensor cable. When i put the phone back together minus the proximity sensor, until the new one gets here, the phone says no sim. The weird part about it is that the iccid number shows up in the settings when the card is inserted so it has to be reading it.
I figured it out. It was the charge port flex cable connection. It wasnt lined up right with the mother board. Just good enough to charge but not good enough to work the mic or the sim slot. Took both out made sure they were lined up 100% put it back together and the sim and mic both started working again.
Have you tried unplugging the proximity sensor flex and reset network settings? It’s strange it would say no sim but show the sim ICCID number which means it is reading the sim card fine.
