Does anyone know if a bad battery will prevent the S7 from turning on even while connected to a USB power source? Galaxy S7 won’t power on, no safe mode, hard reset, no lights, nothing. After charging overnight I removed the back cover and measured the battery output +/- pins as 2.9V. Nominal running voltage is 3.85V, so I’m thinking the battery is bad.
Have you ruled it could be a bad display? Also like @oldturkey03 said if theres something wrong with the battery’s connection it can cause no power up.
@metatronic_mods with that voltage you definitely want to change your battery. Some do, most do not turn on. If your battery has an internal short it will not.
