I have a 2008 MacBook Pro (I’m assuming it’s a pro, since it is metal and not plastic) and a 2010 MacBook Pro with a cracked front glass. Instead of going through the painful process of replacing that glass, would the two screen swap ok? I haven’t opened it up to look at the connectors, and I can’t really find a definitive answer from Google. Being older MBP’s, I don’t want to invest the $133 for a used screen on top of the $30 I’ll have to spend for a new battery. Anyways, if anyone can shed some light on this, and even link me to some schematics, that would be wonderful. I had access to some, but my subscription expired. TIA!

Found out that the screens swap and work flawlessly. The connector nearest the superdrive is a little shorter on the 2008 screen, so it’s kind of a stretch. It plugs in with a little persuasion. I added some electrical tape to keep it is, as it disconnected occasionally during use. One can also remove the “subwoofer” housing by snipping the wire and have plenty of reach, and still have sound.
