Hi Folks. I went trough all the steps and doesn’t missed anything. However after 1 week the display was dropped over the night. Luckely all connector seems fine and not broken the display is also save. To not run again into it - what did I wrong? All glue stribes where sitting on the right place. In addition, I didn’t get the display off again, after which I put it back temporarily. Does one have to press the display for a longer time to avoid that. I’m frustrated. Hope to get some help.
Sounds like you forgot to replace the adhesive strips: iMac Intel 27" EMC 2546 Adhesive Strips Replacement
This is pretty much why I never service these in my repair shops. If one of these breaks on a client that’s $200+ lost on a screen. Personally on one of mine I use masking tape easy to take off and put back on (transparent scotch tape is best) to keep the screen on the corners.
