So I followed the instructions for a center button repair I thought it has gone okay. But when I come to power it back on nothing happens. Have tried holding Menu and Centre buttons for a while but no joy. I did check the white power connector and saw it had come away from the board. The pins were still on the board though so I slotted the connector back onto them which I thought would be enough. Any help much appreciated.

@youngpip this “it had come away from the board. The pins were still on the board though so I slotted the connector back onto them “ indicates that you broke the connector of the board. Very common for this model iPod. The connector no longer makes contact with the board and will have to be replaced. A new connector will need to get soldered to the board. Check this video The connector is still available at places like ebay etc.

try plugging the iPod into the wall charger and leaving for an hour. If it turns on then the problem is solved. if not then Try another charger or wall plug… if still no response; try then to connect via USB to PC/iTunes. If iPod is recognised then your problem is the display cables need to be reseated. If there is no response to iTunes then it is more likely a power issue ie disconnected battery/dock connector. You really need to check every single connector and make sure they are fully seated/ no tears or damage to connector. Let us know how you get on. Good luck.
