Hi all. I tried replacing a logic board into my iPhone 5 That didn’t turn on anymore. I believe I followed the guide scrupulously, no mistakes, but it doesn’t turn on. There is a chance that the guy sold me a broken piece, possible. But if we exclude that what else could be?
Possibly, however, your phone could simply have a bad battery too. You don’t give us much background so we can only speculate. Was the phone working before or was it sitting in a drawer for a while? Did you follow the iFixit guide or some Youtube video? Measure the voltage directly at the battery connector and if it is more than 3.5V, then the phone should boot. Then connect just the Lightning port and battery and connect the phone to an iTunes enabled computer. If it isn’t recognized, you probably have a bad board.
