Ok I replaced my Iphone 6s screen today. At first before I took off the old screen the worked despite the digitizer and lcd being broken. So I took off the old screen and put the home button and everything back in the correct way. The new screen won’t show anything. When I plug it into my macbook it asks for permission and to confirm it on the screen. Does that mean the phone is still on and I just can’t see anything on the screen? I’ve tried the holding down the power button to reset it that didn’t do anything. I’ve tried holding down power and home to no avail. I’ve tried shining a light at it to see if the backlight was messed up the screen doesn’t show anything. Any other suggestions?
If you cant see anything on the screen, even with the old screen on youve either blown a ferrite or the lcd driver chip on the motherboard, I fix these all the time from people that have done their own screen replacements and not disconnected the battery first.
I had the same problem and was about to scrap the replacement screen but first I tried disconnecting the battery connection again and holding the power button down for twenty second. When I reattached the battery and held down the power button it fired right up. Funny thing was that the old screen would work without the whole process of disconnecting the battery when I reconnected it in an effort to see if the new screen was faulty. This may just be something to do with the seven plus since this has never happened on other models.
This happens sometimes, with newer iPhones. Disconnect everything, including the battery. Discharge the phone by holding down the power button, after you’ve done this. Then reconnect everything and power it back on. Hopefully you haven’t damaged anything during the initial repair
Solved: as previous posters have mentioned, if the screen will not turn on after servicing the phone, disconnect the battery connector if you haven’t already. While still off, hold the power button down for 10-20 seconds, let go, reconnect battery and power the phone on. This works for many. If that still doesn’t work, as in my case, reconnect all connectors, and plug phone into a charger and then power on. This “fixed” mine, even though it had 70% charge at the time of repair. Good luck!
my iphone 6 turns on with old screen it was cracked so replaced it and also replaced the battery to be sure . I put the old screen back on and tried to hard restart and the screen came on and showed the download screen. so i turned it off and put the new screen back on and when i got the connections on i turned it on and the screen turned on so shut it off again and finished putting it back together and now it won’t turn on again even trying to hard start it again I hear it on itunes but it shows nothing
This also works on the 8. Too bad I already replaced the phone with the 12 before I saw this thread to unplug the battery.
