Chosen Solution
The phone had a cracked screen and a little while after the phone just shut off. Opened the phone to see a bit of a residue on the shield plate and battery. Just to double check that it could be the battery?

this is the inside. It’s a little on the battery too Update (06/23/2017) Hey guys so I just replaced the battery on this phone. However it seems it won’t turn on. The computer won’t reconize the phone either. Could it be the lighting connector?
Added image. Those are signs of liquid damage / corrosion on the phone. I could be wrong though because that can also be caused by punctured battery gas leakage.
