My washing machine will not spin or drain. When it gets to that part of the cycle it just turns off and dose nothing. If I move the inside it will power on for a few seconds then stop again. I have even run it without anything in it hoping it would help.
The main thing common to both those symptoms is: Cause 1 Lid Switch Assembly The lid switch assembly prevents the washer from spinning when the lid is open. If the lid switch assembly fails, the washer will not drain. To determine if the lid switch assembly is defective, use a multimeter to test each of the lid switches for continuity. If a lid switch does not have continuity, replace it.
