Hi All, I was given a MacBook Pro 2010 13” by a friend which doesn’t turn on. The charger given to me is a T Shape (I gather I need a L Shape, does this matter if the same voltage?) The charger only once every 5/6 times lights up Green when I plug it in so I have ordered a new charger which arrives today. The battery is in good condition as is the screen I have opened it up and have taken out the RAM and changed slots, done an SMC reset and that’s about it. The logic board is pictured here - There is a connector loose, no idea what that is for!! is there anything else that could be causing the issue?
Small financial reward for a quick answer!!! Update (05/14/2019) Thanks for the help so far guys!!! I will look to try and clean the logic board first before I consider buying a new one. Any recommendations on the product to do that would be amazing!
What is the stuff all over the logic board? This thing has obviously gotten a bath in some kind of sticky stuff (now dried up). It needs to be pulled and put into an ultrasonic bath. A very poor attempt at working on it has been tried, the keyboard cable has been damaged, there are screws missing in the RAM bracket. The logic board receptacle for the subwoofer and right speaker is missing from the logic board.
