Hi.I got a costumer that has an iPhone 11. The phone came in for a charging port replacement since it wouldn´t charge. When I got it I tried serveral things: Wireless charging; Did not work. Battery symbol pops up, but nothing moreRegular charger: NothingFast charger: Did not work, but aslo pops up the battery symbol. Battery symbol goes away, but pops up after 10-20 seconds. Kind of goes in a loop. Tried a new charging port. Still no luck. Tried with a new battery (with the new port). The phone turns on, since there is power on the new battery. So with the new battery: Charging with regular charger does not work. I´ve tried several chargers. Wireless charging is indicating charging, but percentage actually drops. Fast charger works, but after charging for a little while the phone gets hot and dies. Did charge 10 % before it died. Had to disconnect/connect the battery to get it to start again. What might cause the problem? Maybe a IC-chip?
There are two resistors one on either side of the battery connector I would check these first. You could test with a Tristar tester but I have found on the iPhone 11 the symptoms you are describing especially with the fast charging heat is usually caused by a faulty U3300, L3302 or L3301 I usually replace the three of them to give me piece of mind. You could try replacing Tristar first it’s up to you.
