So, I have a Samsung SM-T230NU. When I tried to power it on, it flashed for a split second the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 logo and then went blank. I figured it was out of juice, so I plugged it in and let it charge for an hour or so. When I came back, it was flashing and going dark. I tried a different cable. As soon as power was applied, it flashed and went dark again. Now, the boot logo is showing for an even briefer amount of time. I am suspecting the battery or USB port. I don’t have parts readily available to swap, however. Any ideas?
You can try press the power on button and the volume up button for a count of 5 and release and then press both in again. This often happens after a firmware update. hope this helps
Mine did this, but plugging it into another charger seems to have resolved the problem. It appears that if the tablet is dead and plugged in, it can charge for a short time and start the boot sequence – if the charger cannot supply enough current for the running device the boot sequence aborts and the cycle starts over again. The power & volume up combination has no effect because the boot loader is invoked and it aborts like the normal boot sequence. So, find a charger that can supply enough current, it should then boot, then shut it down to charge properly. Caution, the tablet should never reach a usable charge while cycling on and off. I would expect prolonged cycling to dramatically reduce battery life as well.
I have one right now doing the same thing - the customer thought it might be the charging port. It was a dead stick, so I put the tablet on a good Samsung 2.0amp charger and after about a day I started getting this flashing I have a battery one order and will test it out once it arrives.
Mine is doing the same thing.
So is mine. Just started today. Could it be the battery?
Mine flashes the charging logo and goes blank. I’ve tried pushing the volume button. I’ve tried to push the volume button with the power button and I’ve tried different cables and nothing :(
You might need to try using a Samsung charger mine was like that when I used an old charger but when I used the charger that came with my Samsung Galaxy s6 edge it worked perfectly I hope this helps
I did everything here to no avail. Reinstalled firmware n good as new ☺
Here’s what’s worked for me in the past. Take the back off with a credit card (carefully) then unplug the connector to the battery for 5 minutes. Re-seat the connector and attempt charging the device.
