Just got an iMac 2017 4k, want to upgrade ram to 32gb with the fixit kit later on, was wondering if it would void my AppleCare warranty? Thanks
Upgrading the RAM in your Mac will not void its warranty as long as you do not do any damage to the Mac during the upgrade. Please note that the RAM in the MacBook Pro Retina Display cannot be upgraded.
Apple has cracked down on third party upgrades. Since this upgrade involves cutting into the machine, I believe it will void your warranty. Now the machines where you just open a door on the back, no.
