I broke my front facing camera on my iphone 6. Will the 6s camera work on the 6? The 6s front cam is a few megapixels more than the 6 front cam and I’d like to try it. The connectors look in the same spot and same number of pins where where it plugs in, but the cable itself is a little differently shaped, but again, connectors are in the SAME SPOT. Officially, these are not compatible; looking at the flexes, they are a little different. However I saw the other day an answer from a repair tech that indicated they were interchangeable (Can the iPhone 6 Plus camera fit in the iPhone 6?). I haven’t tried myself but checking on a few vendor websites, none of them list them as compatible. Hopefully someone will answer definitively otherwise, you will have to try it yourself and report back so we can all benefit.
yes it works, we use them sometimes when we runout of 6 front cams.

I have done exactly that and yes it works, really wasn’t expecting it.
But do you get use of all megapixels on the 6S front camera, or will it only use the 1.2 mp which the iPhone 6 normally has? I have also tried it and can confirm that it works with the 6S front camera on the iPhone 6, but don’t know if it works the other way around though (6 front camera on iPhone 6s), I guess it should?
