I water damaged my iPhone 5, and I have been phone less for about a year. Due to finicial problems I can not get a new phone soon. My friend says he has an old phone that doesn’t work because the touch screen won’t work. I was wondering if I could take his faulty screen and replace it with my iPhone’s screen. If I replace his screen with mine, will it fix the touch on his phone?
No idea. Only way is to try it out.
it should be of the same model, if your iphone’s screen connectors was not corroded due to water damage, then it is possible that it will work out.
My advise is just try to switch your screen whit the faulty one from your friends phone, you don’t have to spend much money on tools and parts. You only need a pentalope screwdriver and a suction cup to test the screen and if it is working then you also need a philips screwdriver.
I do not like your odds. Its probably the screen connectors itself. :( maybe buy a cheap screen from ebay?
