We snapped the power button cable. We’ve done this before on 2015 iMac and we were able to solder the cable together and reseat the power button with no issues. My question is will a power button from a 2015 iMac fit into a 2019? I gauges the parts and wire and they look identical to a T: screw holes, cable placement, etc
The power button is a simple blister switch which shorting the line to ground, just like the MacBook Pro’s (2015 and older) keyboards do. As far as compatibility between the 2015 and 2017 cases. You’ll need to tell us if the mechanism fits. Do keep in mind the leads are different lengths in some of the series as they take different routes.
