My iPhone 3gs’ battery started to inflate and get bloated pushing the motherboard up. I noticed this when my screen was coming apart from the casing. Will my phone still work if I replace the battery? The motherboard might possibly be bent.
Jellybean, it is possible that it will. The iPhone board is a multilayer board and as such it has (obviously;) multiple layers of circuits running through it. Depending on how far the board has bend, these traces may have gotten disrupted. The only sure way to find out is by replacing the battery and re-evaluating to see what happens.
