Hi, My mac is not turning on. I push the power button and nothing happens. I tried all the press the power button and several combination of keys and nothing. At the beginning the power cable was orange as when the battery is charging. I opened the laptop and disconnected the battery hopping it wouldl reset somehow and when I connected it again the cable stop showing any lights. The trackpad still makes a noise when I click it. Does it have to be the logic board? I am on holiday and cannot find any parts here, but urgently need some info in the hard drive. Yes, idiot me had not backed up in a while. Any ideas?

Try plugging in the Magsafe with battery disconnected, if it’s just a battery issue the Mac will start on its own. A faulty battery can prevent the Mac from starting but if it doesn’t start even without battery then a logic board issue may at play. Make sure your Magsafe is working though, that is always a possibility one has to consider. I wouldn’t be concerned about data in this case, unless there was a spill data should be still there.
