after it passes the ASUS screen it goes to a black screen and says, Reboot and select proper Boot Device
joyjoy621, sounds like it can not find the OS. you did not tell us what model ASUS you have or what your OS is. I suggest that you set your BIOS to see if you can boot from either the optical drive or a USB drive and see if your system comes on. Right now it sounds like a HDD failure and /or no OS.
