it will load in a different mac and also with install disk with c-key pressed . it will go past an thought setup
Once booted from the install disk run Tools->Disk Utility->Disk First Aid:Repair Permissions, then Disk Repair. Try to boot. If it wont do a safe (shift) boot. Since it will load in a different mac you could have an extension problem, a corrupt font or preference. Safe boot should get you around those. Make a new account and set it to boot to that.
